CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Toddler Class – Our toddler classes are offered to children ages 30-36 months of age.  The 30 minute class consists of creative dance and tumbling.  Toddlers dance to age-appropriate tunes such as “Twinkle Twinkle”, “Goin’ to the Zoo”, and “Mr. Sun”, while utilizing props such as magic wands, pompons, butterfly wings, etc. 

 

Preschool Combination Class – Our preschool classes incorporate ages 3 & 4 years and consist of tap dance, pre-ballet and tumbling.  Children dance to songs such as “Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah”, “Don’t Wake the Whale”, “Good Ship Lollipop” and “Lion King”.  Props are used to accompany the dance routines (i.e., pompons, magic wands, dollies, maracas and tambourines).  Students learn the joys of dance through fun and exciting routines and proper technique.

 

Pre-Kindergarten Combination Class - For second year preschool students and those approaching Kindergarten age.  The class is taught second level tap, pre-ballet and tumbling skills.

 

Combination Class (Ages 5-7) – Our beginning elementary classes offer the students an introduction to ballet at the barre, jazz routines/technique and tap dance.  The students dance to upbeat songs that are age-appropriate, while using props such as pompons, canes, tambourines and maracas.  Dancers are given group, as well as individual attention. 

 

Beginning Hip-Hop (Ages 5 years & up) – Age-appropriate music and dance steps in a high-energy class. 

 
Intermediate Hip-Hop (Ages 12 & up) - For students with previous dance experience.
 

Beginning Ballet (Ages 5-12) - Students learn proper technique and terminology with ballet barre and center floor movement.  This class is highly recommended for the serious dance student.

 

Boys Class (Ages 5 & up) – This class is offered with tap dance, jazz and basic exercise.  The boys are always a highlight in our June dance recital.

 

Adult Jazz/Tap – Our beginning adult class is for the fun-loving moms who want exercise and a “girl’s night out”.  We teach tap and jazz technique and routines.  Performance in the June recital is optional. 

 

Cheerleading/Gymnastics – A new class this year, students will learn basic cheerleading and tumbling skills.  Cheer students will perform in our June recital.
